Hotel Miramalfi is built into the cliff just outside Amalfi, close enough to walk into the piazza for a lemon granita and far enough that evenings belong entirely to the sea. Every room faces the water — white, light-filled, with a balcony where the horizon does most of the decorating — and the hotel descends by lift to a saltwater pool and private sunbathing terrace carved into the rock, where the waves break directly beneath the loungers. Two restaurants, a small spa and a shaded pergola above the bay complete a stay that feels less like a hotel and more like borrowing someone's very good cliffside house.
